Our island is home to a unique and diverse community, which is reflected throughout the ranks of the department. We protect and serve a population of 30,000 full-time residents, with over 2 million visitors each year. A fast response and some quick thinking resulted in the arrest Monday of an armed robbery suspect just hours after a local jewelry store was robbed at gunpoint.
