- All permits shall be issued
during the hours of 8:30 AM and 4:30 PM, Monday through Friday.
- The General Contractor or
owner will, at the time of being issued the permit, pay all permit fees
including Building, Electrical, Plumbing, Mechanical, and Gas, plus whatever
other fees as may be required.
- The Electrical, Plumbing,
Mechanical, and Gas permits will bear the number assigned the Building
Permit. These permits will be retained on file in the Building Department
office until the sub-contractors have been selected. The sub-contractors
need to be informed of the permit number, that their permit has been
pre-paid, and they are required to present themselves in the Building
Department to sign for the permit.
- Sub-contractors who commence
work prior to obtaining their permit are subject to receiving a STOP WORK
ORDER, and payment of additional fees when the permit is obtained.
- The General Contractor is
responsible to certify that Sub-contractors whose work is covered by the
Building Permit, such as tile, drywall, and carpentry etc. , are licensed to
do work in this City. Unlicensed sub-contractors found working on the job
will result in a STOP WORK ORDER and/or delay receiving a Certificate of
Occupancy on the whole project.
- Notice of Commencement
People in the Historical Area MUST go through H.A.R.C.
before applying for a building permit.
