We could be left without fresh water after a hurricane.  If a hurricane threatens, fill the bathtubs and sinks.  Secure the drains with flat rubber disks.  To ensure a supply of water for laundry, bathing and flushing the toilet, clean out and fill garbage cans with water.  Position them as close to the house as possible.  And, by now, your family should already have a three-to-five-day supply of drinking water - a gallon a day for each person.

This hurricane preparedness tip is brought to you by Key West Emergency Management.
