Police Department


The Bureau of Professional Standards is comprised of the following organizational components:

Recruiting and Background Investigations;
Accreditation;
Policy and Procedures development;
Internal Affairs; and
Office of Emergency Management.

With the overall objective of ensuring the highest level of police services are provided to our community, the mission of the Bureau of Professional Standards is to continually assess the overall operational efficiency of the Department and to research and make recommendations on ways to improve its efficiency; to develop plans and coordinate the implementation of new programs; to develop policies and procedures that meet accreditation standards, and which provide personnel with performance and conduct standards; to address complaints concerning personnel and department operations; and to ensure qualified personnel are employed.
