The following is a general summary of the benefit package for regular full-time associates.  Part-time associates are eligible for a reduced level of benefits, depending on the number of hours worked per week.**

HOLIDAYS

  • Full-time associates are entitled to fourteen paid holidays per year.

VACATION PAY

  • Associates are entitled to paid vacation after completing six months of employment.  Vacation is accrued based on length of service.

SICK LEAVE

  • Sick leave is accrued each pay period.  Accrued hours may be used after completing six months of employment.

INSURANCE

  • The City pays 100% of the premium cost for the associate's health, dental, vision, and prescription drug coverage.  Dependant coverage is available at a fixed cost through payroll deductions.

  • The City pays 100% of the premium cost for associate's life insurance policy in the amount of $10,000.

  • The City also offers a variety of voluntary, supplemental life and accident insurance programs at group rates and provides the convenience of payroll deductions.

EMPLOYEE ASSISTANCE PROGRAM

  • Confidential self referral program providing mental health services, counseling, testing, and substance abuse treatment.  This program is offered at no cost to associates.

DEFERRED COMPENSATION

  • Several voluntary deferred compensation programs are provided for associates.  These plans are IRS approved for public employees.

PENSION PLAN

  • The General Employees Pension Plan is a contributory pension plan with an employee required contribution of 6% pay.  The City contributes 11% of pay.  Full vesting after 10 years of service and a full retirement option is available after twenty years of service.

TUITION ASSISTANCE

  • Tuition assistance is available for associates with one year of service.  Reimbursement made based on final grade, from 50% to 100%.

FUNERAL LEAVE

  • Associates who have a death of an immediate family member have three days leave (up to five days for out of town travel).

DISCOUNTS

  • The City provides various discounts to major tourist attractions, hotels and car rentals.
