KWFD Honor Guard Attends 9/11 Ceremony In Tallahassee

On March 11th an Honor Guard representing the Key West Fire Department participated in the observance of six months since the terrorist attack of September 2001. The memorial service was held on the steps of the Capital building in Tallahassee. Honor Guards and apparatus represented uniformed emergency responders from throughout the state. A number of moving and heartfelt presentations were made including an address from our Governor, Jeb Bush. Following the memorial service, State Representative Ken Sorensen requested our presence in the gallery to formally introduced each member of the KWFD honor guard to the current session. The House then read and adopted the Resolution recognizing the loss of our Bothers and Sisters on 9/11. an Honor Guard representing the Key West Fire Department participated in the observance of six months since the terrorist attack of September 2001. The members of the Key West Fire Department Honor Guard wish to thank everyone who made our participation in this solemn event possible. We hope our presence conveyed the respect and condolences of the community to the families of those we lost.
