Newspaper runs drawings of subjects in baby death

Todayís Key West Citizen published police artist drawings and detailed descriptions of two men suspected of being connected with the death of a newborn baby at a Key West resort.

Key West police now have a police artistís drawing of a man witnesses believe may be the father of the newborn infant girl found dead in the early morning hours of Oct. 31 in womenís restroom at a Key West resort. A second drawing is of a man who was with the presumed father.

Key West Police Detective Dan Allen said he wants to hear from anyone who recognizes these men or has information about their whereabouts. Allenís number is 305-809-1022.

A couple who saw the men, along with a third man, outside the womenís restroom where the birth took place, provided the description that led to the drawings, Allen said. The clean-cut man said he was the boyfriend of a woman who was ill in the bathroom, the woman witness told Allen.

The baby was about five weeks premature, Allen said, and the placenta and umbilical cord were still attached when a housekeeper found her in a trash can inside the second floor lobby restroom at 6:30 a.m.

Crime Stoppers will pay a cash reward of as much as $1,000 to the tipster whose information leads to an arrest in the case. All callers to Crime Stoppers may remain anonymous. The tips line number is 1-800-346-TIPS (8477).
