Pawn shop burglarized  

Some time Thursday night or Friday morning a burglar or burglars broke into the Real Deal Jewelry and Pawn shop on North Roosevelt Boulevard.

The owner reported the burglary when he opened the shop at about 8 a.m., said Detective Sgt. Donie Lee, supervisor of general case detectives. The burglar entered through the roof, Lee said. Lee said money, jewelry and other items were taken but the actual amount is unknown until the owner completes an inventory.

Key West Police Crime Scene Investigator Don Guevremont processed the scene and Lee said detectives are pursing some leads.

Anyone who saw or heard something suspicious in the area during the night, or has any information on the burglary, is asked to call Key West police at 809-1111. Crime Stoppers of the Keys will pay as much as $1,000 cash to the person who can provide information that leads to an arrest. Callers never have to identify themselves.
