An elderly Olivia Street woman reported missing last week is alive and well, living with her son in Ocala.
Key West police met with the 84-year-old woman’s worried niece and nephew at the Olivia Street house to check on her. They found the house abandoned and all the woman’s possessions were gone. They said she told them she was going to visit her son in Ocala for a week, but they were unable to contact him there.
Key West Police Detective Bill Larkin found the son’s Ocala address and asked the Marion County Sheriff’s Office to check there. Tuesday deputies found her and her son there, eating breakfast. The woman was in good health and told them she was okay, adding she felt safe with her son. Larkin removed her name from the missing persons list and notified the Key West relatives of the good news.
