Bank robber convicted

A hedonistic Key West robber will endure the Spartan existence of a jail cell for the next 15 years after being convicted of robbing two Key West banks last November.

Tracy Hall, 32, told Key West Police detectives he spent all the money from the first robbery, at the Bank of America on Southard Street on Nov. 7, on crack cocaine and strippers. So, he robbed the Key West Bank on Nov. 19 to continue the cocaine and sex spree. Detectives arrested him two days later and found some of that money in a duffel bag in the bedroom of his Emma Street apartment.

He will have to serve the entire 15 year term without any gain time because he committed these crimes within three months of being released from prison where he had been doing time for other robberies, said Assistant State Attorney Manny Madruga, who prosecuted the case. The court also ordered him to pay restitution, which adds up to about $8,500.
